Privacy Policy

Your data, handled with care.

Last updated: 13 May 2026

1. Who we are

The Iceland Intensive (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal information you submit through this site. You can reach us at hello@theicelandintensive.com.

2. What we collect

When you submit the application form we collect: your name, email address, the size and rough revenue of your short-term let business, your stated bottleneck and motivation, and your availability. We may also collect basic technical information such as IP address and browser type via standard server logs.

3. Why we use it

We use the information you submit to review your application, to contact you about a shortlisting call, and to manage your attendance if you join the Intensive. With your consent we may also email you about future Intensives or related offerings; you can opt-out at any time.

4. Legal basis

We process your application data on the basis of your request to enter into a contract with us (your application). Any marketing emails are sent on the basis of your consent. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the site and run the Intensive (for example our hosting provider, email provider, and payment processor), and where required by law. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by appropriate confidentiality obligations.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK / EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Retention

We keep application data for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, after which we either delete it or anonymise it. Attendees’ records related to the Intensive itself may be kept for longer where required for legal, accounting or tax purposes.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies

This site uses only the strictly necessary cookies required for it to function. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes we will update this policy and present a cookie banner.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to ensure your information is treated with care.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated by email where appropriate.
